Movement

Eleven parts. Each one load bearing.

No decoration, no filler plate, nothing added to look expensive. What you see holding the hands is what holds the hands. Service it in twenty years and the parts will still make sense.

Case

Brushed by hand, twice

Once to flatten the mill marks, once at a right angle so the light moves across it rather than glinting off it. It takes a person four minutes and no machine has matched it.

Dial

Printed, not stuck on

The markers are laid into the brass rather than applied over it, so there is no lip to catch dust and nothing to lift in the heat. Read it in direct sun without tilting your wrist.

Strap

One buckle, no tools

Quick-release bars, so changing a strap is a ten-second job on the kitchen table. Two are in the box: oiled leather for most days, rubber for the days you forget you have it on.

Ownership

It is meant to be worn

Sapphire front, hundred metres of water resistance, and a caseback that comes off with a standard wrench. Scratches are not damage. The second owner should be able to service it too.

Four hundred made

Then the tooling is retired. Reserving holds one from the run and costs nothing until yours is machined.
