The house

Built in 1908, rewired in 2024

Original floors, original windows, none of the original plumbing. Four bedrooms, two of them facing the estuary, and a kitchen that was moved to the back where the light is better.

Arranged as they were meant to be rather than knocked into one space. The sitting room keeps its fireplace and its door, which matters more in February than the open plan does in July.

A garden that ends at the wall

Sixty feet, south-facing, with a gate onto the coast path. There is a shed with power to it and a mooring that transfers with the house if you want it.

The village

A shop, a pub, and a train every hour

Fifty-one minutes to the city, which is close enough to commute and far enough to hear the tide. The primary school is a four-minute walk and takes children from the lane.

Honestly

Things you should know

The road floods twice a winter at the very high tides and clears within the hour. The roof was redone in 2019 and the survey is available before you ask for it.
