Vantage is a small practice working in concrete, glass and daylight. Housing, civic buildings, and the occasional small chapel.

How we start

A site visit before a sketch

Every commission begins with a day on site and nothing to show for it. Where the sun lands in February matters more than what the plan looks like on paper.

Rooms should be quiet before they are clever

Materials

Three materials, honestly joined

Board-marked concrete, oak, and glass with as little frame as the structure allows. We detail the junctions rather than hide them.

Housing

Terraces that age well

Our housing work is mostly infill: narrow plots, awkward orientation, neighbours close on both sides. Constraints make the plan.

The practice

Four architects, one studio, no satellite offices

We take on a handful of projects a year so the person you meet is the person drawing. Planning, tender and site are all handled in house.
